Nintendo has officially revealed the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, bringing one of the most acclaimed games in history back with a complete visual overhaul for a new generation.

Ocarina of Time Has Been Rebuilt for Nintendo Switch 2
Rather than simply increasing the resolution of the original game, Nintendo has given Ocarina of Time a major overhaul.
The entire visual presentation has been rebuilt, with redesigned environments, characters, textures, lighting and other graphical improvements designed around Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.
Nintendo has also confirmed fully voiced cutscenes, a significant change from the original game, alongside expanded character dialogue and newly recorded symphonic orchestral music.
Movement has also been modernized. Link can now jump and dash using dedicated controls, while players can freely control the camera with the Right Stick. Nintendo also promises faster loading and smoother overall performance.

A Classic Adventure Returns 28 Years Later
Originally released for Nintendo 64 in 1998, Ocarina of Time follows Link on his journey to stop Ganondorf from obtaining the Triforce and taking control of Hyrule.
The Switch 2 remake arrives 28 years after the original, allowing Nintendo to recreate locations and characters that were previously limited by Nintendo 64 hardware.
The new trailer provides extensive looks at the redesigned Hyrule, showing young Link exploring familiar environments, meeting characters and confronting enemies with completely rebuilt graphics.

The remake also includes several quality-of-life and gameplay improvements.
Nintendo’s official listing confirms support for ZELDA NOTES through the Nintendo Switch App. Players will be able to view daily accomplishments, search for in-game locations based on images and even play an ocarina using a compatible smartphone or tablet.
Existing The Legend of Zelda amiibo figures will also provide in-game bonuses. New Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo figures are scheduled for 2027 and will unlock masks featuring a retro-inspired graphical style.

The November release also puts Nintendo’s biggest Zelda release of the year extremely close to another massive launch.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time arrives on November 5, while Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for November 19, 2026 — just two weeks later.
That will make November an unusually packed month for two of gaming’s biggest franchises.
