Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced Diablo V, revealing the next mainline entry in its legendary action RPG franchise during the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026.
The sequel is currently scheduled to launch in Spring 2029, and Blizzard has already revealed a major change to the traditional Diablo formula: players will enter a version of Sanctuary where the heroes have already lost and Diablo has won.

According to Blizzard, the development team will provide an early look at several major aspects of the sequel, including its story, world-building approach, class design philosophy and overall creative vision.
That presentation should provide significantly more information than the initial cinematic teaser and could offer the first indications of how Diablo V will differ mechanically from Diablo IV.

Diablo V Was One of BlizzCon 2026’s Biggest Surprises
